Mr. Marc Guerin is a Consultant Eye Surgeon at the Mater University and Private Hospitals, Dublin.
He attained his medical degree with honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MB BCh BAO LRCP&SI) in 2002 while also studying medicine at the Honourable Society of King’s Inns, Dublin, graduating as a Barrister-at-Law (BL) with honours. Mr. Guerin has also completed an honours degree in Civil Law (BCL) in University College Cork and a diploma in Health Economics from the National University of Ireland.
Prior to commencing his training in ophthalmic surgery, Mr. Guerin received his academic Doctorate from University College Dublin for his full-time research in glaucoma eye disease. Having commenced his ophthalmology training in Ireland, Mr. Guerin completed the National Higher Surgical Training Scheme for Ophthalmic Surgery in 2009. He has also completed international advanced surgical and laser eye training and was accepted onto the prestigious Corneal and Anterior Segment program at Moorfields Eye Hospital London in 2012.
Mr. Guerin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI Ophth), a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London (MRCOphth) and a member of the Irish College of Ophthalmology (ICO). He is also a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS).
